Ford F-150 Lightning fire prompts production halt

Ford has stopped production and shipment of the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck due to an unidentified battery problem. This decision came after news of a vehicle fire was reported by the Detroit Free Press. According to Ford, the company has identified the issue during a standard pre-delivery quality inspection and believes it has identified the cause. Production at the plant will remain down while the company concludes its investigation and applies the learnings to the battery production process.
