Stellantis, may offer buyouts to reduce its U.S. hourly workforce by up to 3,500 employees, according to a Facebook post by a United Auto Workers local. The move could open up opportunities for indefinitely laid-off workers. The incentives come ahead of crucial contract talks this year with the UAW. CEO Carlos Tavares has emphasized finding savings, as Stellantis looks to launch 25 all-electric models in the U.S. by 2030. Electric vehicles are currently around 40% more expensive than traditional combustion engine cars.
