The Cure Delivers a Trip Back in Time — and a Touch of New Stuff

On a brisk and soggy evening that suited the musical mood at hand, the Cure served up a long,
tightly executed set Tuesday at a sold-out Pine Knob Music Theatre.
It had been a long time coming. This summer’s outing is the first U.S. tour by Robert Smith and
company in seven years, and the Pine Knob date was the band’s first Detroit show in nearly two
decades.
