Coast Guard Suspends Search for Ice Climber in Lake Superior

A 32-year-old man went missing after he fell from a cliff at Picture Point Lake Shore. Authorities immediately launched a search effort, sending out helicopters to scour the area for any signs of the man. Authorities also sent out an ice rescue team, but unfortunately, the bad weather conditions made it impossible for them to continue the search. On Februry 9 Authorities that suspended the search, claiming that " is is one of th most difficult decisions they had to make".

On Monday, February 6th, the US Coast Guard in the Detroit area recieved a report about individuals trapped on an Ice Floe at Fish Point in Tuscola County. All individuals were rescued by airboats and helicopters. Officials sent out helicopters to make sure that nobody was left behind.
