Detroit area avoids vehicle emission testing after EPA's ozone finding

Ground-level ozone pollution levels in southeast Michigan have met federal air quality standards, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This allows the state to cancel plans for a vehicle emissions testing program that it had not done in decades. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy will continue to monitor and inspect sources to ensure compliance with air quality regulations.
