DTE and Consumers report lower Q1 earnings

Michigan's two largest energy companies, DTE Energy Co. and CMS Energy, reported lower earnings for the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year. DTE's operating earnings dropped from $448 million to $274 million due to storm expenses and milder weather. CMS Energy's net income decreased from $353 million to $204 million for similar reasons.
