EPA unveiling strongest ever auto emissions standards in EV push

The US government is introducing new tailpipe emissions standards that aim to force carmakers to increase the proportion of electric vehicles in their US sales to 67% by 2032. The proposed EPA rules would reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cars by 56% for the applicable model years 2027 to 2032, removing nearly 10 billion tons of carbon emissions by 2055.
