Ice bridge between Michigan's U.P., Canada open to snowmobilers
Michigan News - Lehto Live • 7m 9s
This season, the Drummond Island ice bridge officially opened on Friday, Feb. 10, and will remain open until spring, when the ice starts to melt and travel becomes dangerous. The ice bridge connecting the two islands is a popular destination for winter fun, with opportunities for snowmobiling, dog sledding, cross-country skiing, aero sleighing, and biking. However, cars and trucks are not permitted on the trails. The trails are wide, free from congestion, and marked with evergreen trees to prevent snowmobilers from getting lost in the dark or during inclement weather, according to the Drummond Island Tourism Association.
