Inflation relief checks like Michigan proposal might not be taxed.

On Monday, February 13 Governor Whitmer and Michigan and Democratic leaders announced that they pushed for a plan that includes sending inflation relief checks of 180$ to taxpayers. Yet, it has not been determined whether that money would be taxed by the federal government yet. Edward Karl, vice president of tax policy and advocacy for the American Institute of CPAs contended that American Taxpayers should wait for IRS guidance on this issue.
