Update on blastomycosis outbreak among Billerud Mill workers

The Escanaba Billerud Paper Mill in Michigan is under investigation by the Public Health Delta & Menominee Counties (PHDM) for an outbreak of blastomycosis, a fungal infection. The PHDM has confirmed 19 cases of blastomycosis, which means that the fungus was either grown or seen by a microscope in a specimen. Additionally, 62 people have been categorized as probable cases, which means that they tested positive for either antigen or antibody with symptoms of blastomycosis.
